How the nursing words fit each size
71 of the 72 nursing words fit the 11 × 11 easy grid. PRESCRIPTION is too long for it, so it only turns up on the 15 × 15 medium and 19 × 19 hard grids.
23 words have five letters or fewer, AIDE, CAST and DOSE among them, and those are the first ones young solvers spot. The longest, PRESCRIPTION, OBSERVATION and STETHOSCOPE, are the last to be found.
A way to use the nursing word search
Leave a stack in the break room or tuck one into a thank-you card. Nursing instructors can also use it as a low-stakes terminology check: students define each circled term, STETHOSCOPE to TRANSFUSION, before handing it in.
