Dashed tags are suggestions, not facts about your artwork. Keep one only if a shopper who searched it would be glad to find your design: Redbubble counts irrelevant tags as tag spam.
How this Redbubble tags generator picks and orders your tags
Redbubble’s own advice is to brainstorm about 30 words, keep the best 15, and describe the content, theme and style of the artwork. The generator follows that order. It puts the words you typed first, one per tag, then the style and colours you mentioned, then related ideas such as close synonyms. It leaves out product types, gift words and buzzwords, and it tells you when it has.

That is 14 tags. Before pasting you would still remove any idea the picture does not show: no camper in the artwork, no “camper” tag. Fifteen is a ceiling, not a quota.

Third-party pages disagree about Redbubble’s limits, so these come from Redbubble’s own help centre and blog, read on 13 October 2026. Redbubble allows “up to 15 tags, with 50 characters each”: 15 is the number of tags, 50 is the length of each one.

Describe the artwork
Type what is drawn, its style and its colours into the generator above. Leave out the product: a shopper filters by product on Redbubble, so a tag saying sticker or T-shirt wastes a slot.

Keep what is true
Up to 15 tags come pre-selected. Remove any that do not describe your design, swap in an idea from the list underneath, or add a name that belongs together, such as a place or a breed.

Copy and paste
Press Copy and paste the list into the tags box on Redbubble's upload page. For work that is already live, use Quick Edit on your Manage Portfolio page instead.

Save, then wait a few minutes
Click Redbubble's red Save button on each work. Redbubble says new tags can take up to 15 minutes to show in its search.
6 Redbubble tagging tips
The generator gives you a starting list. These decide which tags stay.
Start with what is drawn
Redbubble's own example is a shark riding a bicycle, tagged shark, bicycle and cyclist. Name what a shopper can see in the picture first; mood and style come after.
Then the mood and setting
Add a word or two for the context or feeling: forest or city for the background, cozy or comfort for the mood. These are the tags that catch theme searches.
One word per tag
Redbubble's guide says one-word tags work better than complex phrases. Keep a phrase only when the words belong together, like Grand Canyon or sea turtle.
Skip the product type
Sticker, shirt, mug and hoodie describe Redbubble's catalogue, not your art. Shoppers filter by product, so those slots are better spent on the design.
Don't say the same thing twice
Cat, cats, cat lover and cat mom are one idea four times. Use the slots for different words instead: cat, kitten, feline, whiskers.
Keep brands out
Redbubble's guide says to avoid brand names and trademarks that are not yours, and its tag-spam rules name other artists' names. The generator refuses the best-known brands; check anything else at tmsearch.uspto.gov. Not legal advice.

Why does the generator suggest tags I didn't type?▾
After the words you typed, it adds close synonyms and theme words, such as kitten and feline for cat, because Redbubble suggests looking for synonyms. They are shown with a dashed border: keep one only if it is true of your design, since irrelevant tags count as tag spam.
Why isn't my design showing up in Redbubble search?▾
New tags can take up to 15 minutes to appear, and Redbubble says not every design is guaranteed a place in its search. Accurate titles and tags help a design that is included match the right searches; they cannot force it in.
Does the generator check trademarks?▾
