How the science words fit each size
Every one of the 75 science words is short enough for the 11 × 11 easy grid, so easy, medium (15 × 15) and hard (19 × 19) all draw on the full list.
25 words have five letters or fewer, GAS, ACID and ATOM among them, and those are the first ones young solvers spot. The longest, ELECTRICITY, EVAPORATION and MEASUREMENT, are the last to be found.
A way to use the science word search
Hand it out as a warm-up before a lab day and ask students to star every word they could use in their write-up afterwards. HYPOTHESIS, OBSERVATION and MEASUREMENT are all in the list.
