Free Printable Mazes for 10 Year Olds
A 17 × 17 grid with 289 cells — more than double the kids size. Long dead ends start to appear, so a pencil and a bit of patience pay off, but it still fits one sheet of paper at a size a child can trace.
Free and unlimited, no account. Generated in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Every maze has exactly one solution.
Who this size suits
Roughly ages 8 to 12, and most adults who want something quick. If it is finished in under a minute, move up to the adult size.
Why every maze is solvable
The generator carves the grid with a recursive backtracker: it starts in a random cell with every wall standing, knocks through to an unvisited neighbour, and backs up only when it runs out of new cells. That produces a perfect maze — every cell reachable, exactly one path between any two points, no loops. The Show answer overlay traces the route recorded while the maze was built, so it is the path, not a path.
Printing it well
Download the puzzle first with the answer hidden, then toggle Show answer and download again — the filename carries -puzzle or -solution so a stack of them does not get mixed up. The PNG is black lines on white at three times screen size, so a mono laser printer has nothing to dither. Choose Fit to page in the print dialog; at native resolution the image sits in the middle of the sheet.
Using these in a book you sell
Nothing here is traced from an existing book — the walls are carved fresh each press, and the mazes are yours to use. The obstacle to a book is volume and layout, not permission: a paperback needs dozens at a fixed trim with paired solution pages. KDP Creator renders those at 300 DPI as numbered PNG pages plus a manifest — no finished PDF, so you assemble the interior yourself.
